Express Entry Skilled Worker Canada Immigration Program
Express Entry Skilled Worker Canada is for skilled immigrants applying for Canadian permanent residents based on their ability to move and settle in Canada and become part of Canada economy.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada CIC assess applicants to the Express Entry Skilled Worker Canada Program based on the following skilled assessment factors:
- English and/or French language skills,
- Work Experience
- Arranged Employment
As of January 2015, people applying for Canadian permanent residency as a skilled worker must prepare their application using the Express Entry Canada System.
Express Entry Canada Comprehensive Ranking System
Citizenship and Immigration Canada CIC will be ranking Express Entry Skilled Worker Canada applicants based on their Education, Skill, work experience, spousal characteristic and other factors against others in the Express Entry pool. On regular intervals, Citizenship and Immigration Canada CIC will select Skilled Workers from the pool of Express Entry applicants and send them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
Under this new Express Entry Canada system, most complete applications will be processed in six months or less. Applicants with higher Comprehensive Ranking System score are selected first.
The following migrants must use the Express Entry system if you want to apply:
- under the Federal Skilled Worker Program,
- under the Federal Skilled Trades Program,
- under the Canadian Experience Class, or
- in some cases under the provincial nominee program PNP

What can I do while I am waiting?
